1.3. Emulation flags, Credits and other Recognitions

The followings are the most recent recognitions awarded to the school.

- 2010: The school organized the 90th anniversary (1920-2010), 50 years since the School was named after General Secretary Lê Hồng Phong, and was awarded the Emulation Flag by the Government.

- From 2008-2013: The school was awarded 3 Award Certificates by The Ministry of Education and Training.

- 2012: The school was awarded the Emulation Flag by Vietnamese General Confederation of Labour.

- The school was awarded several noble awards by Nam Dinh People’s Committee, Ho Chi Minh Youth Union and Nam Dinh Department of Education and Training.

- The Party Committee of the school has been recognized as pure and strong for many years.

- The Trade Union of the school has been awarded several certificates from Vietnamese General Confederation of Labour, National Education Union of Vietnam and Nam Dinh Trade Union for many years.

- Ho Chi Minh Youth Union of the school was awarded certificates by the Central Committee of Youth Union for many years for excellent movements within the school.

- School Board of Women was awarded Emulation Flag of Excellence in 2010.

4. Students

Le Hong Phong high school has been producing outstanding students for the country, many of whom have held important positions in the Communist Party and the Government, namely: General Secretary Trường Chinh; Vice Chairman of the Government Đặng Việt Châu; Minister of Home Affairs and the first General of Vietnamese People’s public security Mai Chí Thọ; Writer Thép Mới; Politician, Diplomat, Former Vice Chairman of the Government, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyễn Cơ Thạch, and others.

During the first few years when after freedom was reestablished in the north of Vietnam, Le Hong Phong high school was well known for outstanding students in literature and mathematics, such as Nguyễn Đức Đại, Đặng Vũ, Trần Sĩ Hưởng, Trần Quang Vinh, Trần Mạnh Thường, and others. During the following years, many alumni from Le Hong Phong high school held important positions in the government, and succeeded various fields such as art, science and business.

Le Hong Phong students in recent years have demonstrated that they can succeed in diverse areas of society. Nguyễn Thảo My, a student from class 10A1 in school year 2012-2013, became the champion of “The Voice 2013” in Vietnam. In 2014, Nguyễn Cao Kỳ Duyên, a student from the French class, won Miss Vietnam 2014.
